Background and objectives of the mission

Carrefour is a French large-scale food retail group that has been a pioneer in the sector for over 60 years. The Group employs more than 300,000 people around the world.

Historically divided into several legal entities (Head Offices, hypermarkets, etc.), Talent training and development programs followed this division. Recently, the Group wanted align these various programs in order to offer a common training base for all entities. In particular to create even more links between employees from these different entities.

To this end, Carrefour launched several Talent Development Programs in 2020:

  • The “D Booster” program for Directors — the one we are talking about in this case study
  • The “Cadre Booster” program for Head Office Managers
  • The “Carrefour Elles” program for female talent
  • The School of Leaders for store employees.

The “D Booster” program is based on 3 main objectives:

  • Enabling participants to get to know each other better: identify their strengths and areas for improvement
  • Give them the keys to better understand the environment in which they operate: sector, market trends, etc...
  • Better interact and collaborate better with their teams through this better knowledge of themselves
