Seminars: 4 ingredients to make them real employee experiences

In 2019, the expectations of employees regarding seminars have changed. Very theoretical and training-oriented days are no longer popular. Talents, whatever they are employees, managers or directors want to live real experiences during which they can practice, challenge and be challenged, exchange and be inspired. It is this seminar philosophy that, at Talentis, we have been offering for more than 16 years to the hundred major French and international groups that we support. In this article, we share with you 4 ingredients that will make your seminars, unforgettable employee experiences.

Ingredient #1: Engaging employees prior to the seminar

Make a skills diagnosis:

For future participants in seminary, the objective will be to position ourselves in relation to skills which will be worked on D-Day. This upstream work can be done through a self-diagnosis, that of “boosters and blockers” for example, or via a microlearning module as part of support.

Microlearning: “Succeeding for women”.

Communicate in advance to create a community

Another key to engaging participants in advance is to do “teasing”. Sharing articles, videos on the topic of the seminar via group messaging applications such as Yammer, Attendify... This allows you to create a “community” of participants, which reinforces the feeling of co-responsibility and commitment, which are two essential elements in the success of a seminary.

Ingredient #2: Digital Detox

Chez Talentis, when we animate a leadership seminar we like to immerse participants in an unusual environment. We turn off PowerPoint and put the computers away to make more room for exchanges and experimentation. In addition, as explained in our article below, talents want to work with coaches who combine kindness and challenge. This is the reason why the Talentis coaches In particular, they have the habit of sitting next to the participants and not standing, like teachers in front of their classroom.

Does coaching still have a future?

Ingredient #3: Offer friendly places that are out of the ordinary

To free speech, encourage exchanges and boost creativity, the choice of location is a major element in the success of a seminar. What we recommend: a “relaxing” setting, often in the countryside, a bit “like at home”. This type of space promotes trust, calm, exchanges and concentration. That is why, at Talentis, we choose with the company accompanied by quirky places that break with the daily life of employees : former workshop, Haussmann apartment, all types of modern, colorful and innovative places...

Ingredients #4: Focus on the experiential and the inspired

The day of the animation is oriented towards coaching and simulation. Chez Talentis we know that the exchange of practices, feedback, challenges and games allow To engage fully involving the participants and thus to anchor learning in the long term. As for the exercises, workshops and scenarios offered, they can be directly linked to professional coaching, as if completely offbeat: djembe, piano, singing, theater... But they always have links with the themes of leadership and collective effectiveness. Leadership seminars organized by Talentis generally combine 70% experience and 20% inspiration. These moments of inspiration take the form of conferences led by Outstanding keynote speakers coming to share their experiences, their passion. Navigators, explorers, philosophers, neuroscientists... many of them have already spoken at seminars organized by Talentis : Raphaël Enthoven, Isaac Getz, Florence Servan-Schreiber, Florence Servan-Schreiber, Joël de Rosnay, César Harrada, Gabriel Hannes, Erwan Deveze... We also work a lot with Guillaume Lagane, Graphic Facilitator, whose role is to illustrate the exchanges and learnings covered on the day of the seminar. It is a way to then communicate about the seminar in question within the company.

La co-responsibility and The commitment Are two pillars of a successful leadership or team seminar. That's why at Talentis, we make every effort prior to and during the seminar to allow these elements, among others, to exist. Our role, as professional facilitator coaches, is to put each participant in an “adult” position to allow everyone to: benefit fully of all the learning provided during a day of entertainment. If you want to use a multicultural team of senior professional coaches to support you on your talent development projects, do not hesitate to contact us.
