Remote coaching: a tool to support all the talents in your company!

A year ago, on June 1, 2017, Talentis launched Click & Coach, the premium remote coaching solution for all talents. Very common in the United States, this coaching practice is gaining new followers all over the world every year: in 10 years, the share of coaching done online has increased from 0% to 32%. Moreover, 95% of HR Directors and Talent Managers are convinced of the usefulness of such a solution to facilitate access to Coaching for everyone. By guaranteeing the user the possibility of choosing his coach, his coaching theme and the schedules of his sessions in 3 clicks, Click & Coach meets the needs for flexibility, autonomy and speed expressed by talents and their organizations. One year after the launch of Click Coach, Valérie Rocoplan, CEO of Talentis and Executive Coach discusses in particular the benefits associated with the use of the solution, but also on what the solution implies in the practice of coaching from the point of view of the coach.

Valérie, could you tell us about the feedback you got from the coachees concerning their use of Click & Coach?

“To start with, I would say that the word that comes up most often is: simplicity. According to managers and managers who use Click & Coach, the platform is very easy to use. It was also one of our main challenges when the idea of creating such a tool began to germinate in our minds 18 months ago. Namely, simplify access to individual coaching for all, while guaranteeing a quality of coaching with Talentis professional coaches. The other aspect spontaneously mentioned by users, during the feedback, is the possibility of choosing between numerous coaches. Today's talents want to be more autonomous, not only in the exercise of their duties, but also in terms of development of their skills. With Click & Coach we offer them this possibility while being available to guide them if necessary. To remain autonomous, I would add that the last point of satisfaction expressed by users is the possibility for them to plug in their own coaching sessions directly in the coach's agenda. A time-saver for everyone!”

And concerning HR managers, what are their feedback on your remote coaching solution?

“As I said, online coaching in general, and Click & Coach in particular, allows the very rapid triggering of sessions of individual coaching. In the context of traditional face-to-face coaching, the HR director himself selects 2-3 coaches who will be presented to the coachee. In the context of coaching on Click & Coach, this step is not always useful if the coaching is short, and the coachee can choose himself from a selection of Talentis coaches offered by the platform according to the coaching theme that he will have chosen. This method reduces the work of HR managers in terms of administrative and logistical management, while not jeopardizing the rigorous monitoring of each support thanks to the automatically generated reporting for each company.”

Since 2003, Talentis has supported more than 60 major French and international groups, in particular through leadership programs. Can the remote coaching solution, Click & Coach, be easily integrated into a “program” configuration?

“Better than that! Some of new programs of this year were built around Click & Coach. In a globalized context, where teams from the same company are present on 5 continents, supporting at the same time a large number of remote collaborators has become a major challenge for large groups. At Talentis, we work with 75 coaches around the world. Thanks to Click & Coach, access to premium coaches is guaranteed to populations located all over the world.”

Let's talk a bit “practical” now. Is distance coaching changing your coaching practice?

“In some cases, the coachee's problem is very specific: resolving a conflict, preparing for a meeting... The distance coaching, which allows sessions to be triggered quickly, lends itself very well to this type of challenge. It is in this context that our coaching practice tends to evolve, because in one or two hours, the coach and the coachee must have succeeded in formulate answers to the initial problem. In a way, this requires the coach to be even more focused on efficiency. But it is not really remote coaching as such that is changing our coaching practice, but rather the aspects on which coachees want work as a priority today. We are currently witnessing a growing demand for this type of highly operational and pragmatic coaching within large groups, which reinforces our desire to develop. Click & Coach, to offer users the best possible experience.”

You are talking about developing Click & Coach. A year after its birth, what new features have been developed?

“One of the specificities of Talentis istailor-made support of its customers. For 15 years, we have put listening to the companies we support at the center of our concerns. Click & Coach is no exception to this rule, the new version of Click & Coach allows, among other things:

  • Access to a database of documentary, video and audio resources for all coachees, on the various coaching themes offered by Click & Coach.
  • Making appointments even more simplified in the coaches' diaries.
  • And other new features to discover by contacting us!”

As can be seen from the figures given in the introduction, the distance coaching has enjoyed a steady increase in popularity over the past ten years among major groups. This is explained in particular by the numerous benefits that this type of modality allows: a great speed of triggering, a wide choice of coaches, a quality of support comparable to traditional coaching...
